When it comes to gym shoes, support is essential, and the NIKE METCON 8 did not disappoint. The solid base gave good traction on any surface, while the midfoot cage and heel counter added support during the best exercises of all time: Squats and Deads.

As mentioned before, I frequent the gym a lot, so I require a shoe that can handle the wear and tear of tough workouts. The NIKE METCON 8 is built of high-quality, long-lasting materials that have held up well over time. I’ve worn these sneakers for over a year and they’re still going strong!

I recently tried out the GORUCK Ballistic Trainers. There’s a good reason they’re on this list. These shoes are not only wonderful for lifting, but they are also versatile. You could lift in and then go on a coffee date later… Remember, confidence matters. It also comes with two sole inserts. One for arch support and one for a flat sole. Here’s how they compared in terms of comfort, support, stability, and durability.

These shoes provide excellent support, with a strong and robust sole that kept me firmly planted during lifts. The mid-foot strap added extra support and held my feet in position, which was especially useful during lateral motions.
Durability: 5/5
These Trainers have been designed to last, featuring a durable yet flexible ballistic mesh upper capable of withstanding even a lot of abuse. The sneakers have held up nicely and still appear brand new after several months of use.

These trainers’ strong soles provide superb support during lifts. While the flexible forefoot enables for easy foot movements while maintaining solid stability. The toe box of these shoes, however, is little smaller than I would desire. A broader toe box really improves my ability to “feel the ground” when lifting.

The cushioned insole, make these shoes extremely comfortable. However, the shoes required some time to break in, and I experienced some minor pain due to the toe box being too narrow for my liking. However, after a few exercises, the shoes began to feel more comfortable.

4. NO BULL Trainers
As a fan of gym shoes, NO Bulls has to be on this list. These are one of the first shoes I had actually bought mainly for the gym. I was planning on hitting huge PR’s in these shoes. Which I did. If you like a shoe with a nice size toe box and durability that you can feel, the No Bulls are where it’s at. Not to mention the vast arrays of colors that they have to match any style you have. Lets’s brekdown the rating of the shoe’s stability, durability, support and comfort.
Support: 4.5/5
The No BULL Trainers offer solid support and have a stable sole that keeps me anchored during lifts. The shoes also have a broad toe box, allowing my feet to extend out and providing a strong platform during workouts like squats and deadlifts. However, I found that the low tops could use a little more ankle support.
Durability: 5/5
The No BULL Trainers are extremely sturdy and long-lasting. The upper is composed of a strong and sturdy material that has withstood wear and tear effectively, while the outsole is constructed of a tough rubber that showed little signs of wear despite several months of usage. So wondering if you going to burst out of shoes during a lift is the last thing you should be worried about.

The No BULL Trainers are extremely stable. The outsole is comprised of a sticky rubber material that gives good traction on gym floors, and the heel cup secures the foot. These shoes are ideal for lifts that demand a stable basis, and they made me feel confident in lifting heavy and going for squat PRs.

The No BULL Trainers are quite comfortable, featuring a soft yet solid sole that offers adequate cushioning. These shoes are particularly comfortable since they keep your foot solid while also allowing for some movement. However, the shoes do need to be broken in before they are truly comfortable. The break-in process will last around two weeks. Make sure you put that work in with them!

You can’t go wrong with a good ol’ Reebok. If your looking for a great breathable shoe that is meant for lifting then these are it. These shoes have a flat sole that are comfortable as well has a nice modest heel. Which is a great bonus for weightlifting. Including with the bonus, if you want a versatile and comfortable shoe that you can workout in and go run errands then Reebok Nano X2 would be a great selection. Lets break down this shoe based stability, comfort, durability, and support.

The Reebok Men’s Nano X2 Cross Trainer is a good choice for a variety of exercises such as weightlifting, running, and jumping. A strengthened heel cup keeps the foot steady during lifts, and a flexible yet supportive midsole allows for natural foot mobility. The shoe also has a bigger toe box, which allows the foot to splay out and gives a stable platform during lifts.

The materials could have been somewhat better.

The toe box is smaller than I would like, though, as I discovered. Therefore, 6.if you have wide feet, this might be a minor problem for you.
